Description

While on a trip to Alaska with my mom in the summer of 2023, we were walking along the beach of Cook's inlet with our bear guide when we spotted a small dot walking along the shore about 100 yards away from us. We slowly approached it, ensuring we maintained a respectful distance, until we realized it was a Juvenile Bald Eagle eating the fish carcasses abandoned by fisherman. After waiting around an hour for him to walk closer to me, I captured this incredible moment in which his blue eyelid is glazing over his eye, matching the contrast of the ocean and the pebbles in the foreground. This was a photo I never expected to capture, however, it ended up as one of my favorite photos from the trip.
